The Sarmiento Institute of Boston was founded in 2000.
Since its inauguration in May 1973, the members of the Argentine community have been gathering at Sarmiento's Monument each September 11th.
Under Dr.Rafael Sarmiento's advisory, four dedicated members of the Argentine Association of New England (Alberto Delloca,Alberto Galmarino, Arturo Rolla, Julio Vimo) created the Sarmiento Institute of Boston with the sole purpose of divulging Sarmiento's ideas and investigating his life, in particular the time he spent in Boston and the United States.
